Roadmap

Where it's going

Started in June 2026, open source since August, released in public since September, and 1.0 since October. What's shipped, what's next, and what's being tested. No dates for what's next: things ship when they work, and every release is in the release notes.

Next

  • Windows and Linux out of betaBoth apps are a beta today. Once the Windows one has been opened on a real Windows PC, they become full releases.
  • A signed Windows appSo SmartScreen stops asking, as the signed Mac app opens without a warning. Until then Windows stays an unsigned beta.
  • Clusters and communitiesGroups in your network, found from the ties between your connections that circle scans already keep.

Being tested

  • Auto-Bridge and Auto scanAll-day pacing, tried on real accounts before it loses its experimental label.
  • The live messages syncReading your messages list in your own Chrome, once a day (Outlink → Messages & follow-ups). Not yet tried on a live account.
  • Company and bridge scansRe-checked end to end against LinkedIn's current pages.
  • The Intel Mac buildOpened and checked on an Intel Mac, not just built for one.
  • Searching only your 2nd degreeFewer searches for the same picture.

Shipped

  1. 1.1.0Six Degrees becomes Sixgree. A guided setup for someone new, a friendlier Scan page, no pop-ups while it scans (the scanner's Chrome stays out of sight unless LinkedIn needs you), the notch on every page, Insights inside Profile, and an Unscanned view in Degrees.
  2. 1.0.0Signed by Blake Burford and notarized by Apple: the Mac app opens like any other, no Open Anyway. On a Mac, the Scan page offers App Management once, so macOS stops asking while you scan.
  3. 0.8.0Insights, the Power Index: everyone within two steps ranked by power; Auto sends a connection request in one press; scans that stopped partway say so, with Resume; the tabs sit on the header line.
  4. 0.7.0Backups every day, photos and all, with Restore in Settings; a LinkedIn usage page; CSV imports kept; a first run that checks for Chrome and says how long scanning takes; light looks and Liquid Glass.
  5. 0.6.0Themes, seven looks or your own colours; Clusters drawn the way Obsidian draws a graph, with Orbit; the same header on every tab; dots on its line while a scan runs.
  6. 0.5.0One header on every page, Separation as its own tab, Heat and Orbit in the Galaxy, a new Paths, ranking titles your way, and a Scan page that launches in four steps.
  7. 0.4.11Social becomes a full CRM: every conversation, sent and received, stages, notes and follow-ups.
  8. 0.4.10The notch: a small pill under the header for scanning and other long jobs.
  9. 0.4.9Conversations in the Social tab, a working messages sync, safer Auto scan ceilings.
  10. 0.4.8A new icon, Paths about 9× faster on a large network, and the new website.
  11. 0.4.7Hide the Chrome window while scanning, with its risks spelled out.
  12. 0.4.6The window's frame matches the dark app.
  13. 0.4.5The Galaxy physics lab: forces, colour by, find, a replay of your network growing, pictures and video.
  14. 0.4.4Insights on every card, network health, the Social tab and Auto scan.
  15. 0.4.3A status bar on every page while a scan runs, and experimental all-day pacing.

  17. 0.4.1Who only one connection reaches, which connections open the same doors, and degree filters.
  18. 0.4.0The Scores tab and your sector, rarity, a circle on every card, and a cap on profile views.
  19. 0.3.0The Mac app scans with nothing to install, Settings, and updates in one click.
  20. 0.2.1npx sixgree on Linux, tutorial videos, and LinkedIn exports up to 30,000 connections.
  21. 0.2.0Sixgree becomes a real Mac app for everyone.
  22. 0.1.0 – 0.1.11The first public releases, from 24 September 2026: one-line install, Separation, a search budget and cooldown lock, Paths and Outlink.

How it started

Three generations in about three months.

  1. 11 June 2026The first build. "6 Degrees of Separation": a LinkedIn network research tool with a force-directed graph, hosted online. Archive: the original prototype (June 2026), kept as it was.
  2. 12–15 July 2026The static version. Your LinkedIn network as a galaxy, with leverage tiers, bridges and introduction paths. Local-first and entirely static: the first version where your data stayed on your device.
  3. 21 August 2026The open-source rebuild. This codebase: a desktop app with a local database, no account and no keys.
  4. 24 September 2026The first public release, 0.1.0, then the 0.4 releases through late September. Every release.
